Philadelphia police are investigating a deadly shooting behind a Dunkin Donuts in Northeast Philadelphia Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating a deadly shooting behind a Dunkin' Donuts in Northeast Philadelphia Tuesday.

Officers responded to the 6400 block of East Roosevelt Boulevard just after 5 a.m. for a report of a robbery in progress.

When they arrived, they found a man shot dead.

A manager of the Dunkin' told Action News that two armed men came in the store.

While one of the men stole money from the register, the other robbed customers that were inside.

Then, the manager said one of the customers -- who was armed -- followed the thieves outside and allegedly shot and killed one of the robbers.

The second robber was able to get away.

Police confirmed to Action News that the man killed is allegedly one of the two suspects.
