NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are searching for the suspects who held up an armored truck on Wednesday in New Castle, Delaware, and got away with the driver's gun.

The robbery happened around 1 p.m. at the Restaurant Depot on Cornell Drive near Rogers Road.

Authorities say the three men, who were armed with rifles, got away with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspects took off on foot toward the Oakmont Development. All are believed to be armed.

A woman who lives just feet from the supply store told Action News she is concerned for her safety. She asked that we not show her face on camera.

"It's very sad that they have to resort to something like this and jeopardize people like this, themselves, families, I just hope that they are found," the woman said.

Police are looking for a dark-colored Nissan SUV.

An emergency alert is urging everyone in the area to stay alert and to call 911 if they see any suspicious activity.

Video from the Action Cam showed multiple state police investigators on the scene.

No injuries were reported.
