Man ID'd after being found shot to death on roof in Philadelphia's Kensington section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man was found shot to death on a roof in Philadelphia's Kensington section on Wednesday.

Police responded to the 1800 block of East Albert Street around 8:45 a.m. for a call about a person with a gun.

When they arrived, officers found 46-year-old Jeffrey Gavin on the rear first-floor rooftop. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inside the rear bedroom of the home, officers said they found three shell casings.

The investigation is ongoing with the homicide unit.

No arrests have been made and no motive has been determined at this time.
