Suspect sought for fatal hit and run in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Authorities are looking for the driver involved in a deadly hit and run in North Philadelphia.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday on the 1200 block of Lehigh Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Nafeece Acquil Jenkins unresponsive in the road.

He died at the scene.

Police say they believe a white Honda was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck Jenkins as he was crossing the road.

The vehicle was later located unattended in a lot on the 1200 block of Park Avenue.

Police continue to investigate.
