AccuWeather: Beneficial rain to start the weekend in the Philadelphia region

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Saturday's not a washout, but there will be a few rounds of scattered showers and thunderstorms around.

TONIGHT: Rain develops overnight. It stays very mild, low 62.

SATURDAY: A period of rain and thundershowers during the morning. By mid-day we'll have some breaks at times and the sun may peek out. A cold front approaches later in the afternoon with a few showers and thunderstorms possible, high 76.

SUNDAY: Sunshine returns with a few instability clouds as cooler air moves in, high 66. It's also a windy day with a gusty northwest wind bringing 40mph gusts.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny and milder, high 74.



TUESDAY: Feeling like summer with mostly sunny skies, high 83.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds, some sun, high 79. An isolated shower or storm can't be ruled out.

THURSDAY: A nice and seasonable start to May with some sunshine, high 70.

FRIDAY: Rather cloudy with the chance for showers and storms, high 74.
